Where We Live
building better communities
Downtown Southport, Inc. presents
The Wizard of Oz
October 12, 2007
A nip of Fall was finally in the air as we arrived at the Garrison
Lawn in Southport to watch the family classic
The Wizard of Oz.
By the end of the evening we were bundled in blankets and
dreaming of hot chocolate, but it was still a GREAT evening!

As we waited for dark to fall and the movie to start, WHERE WE
LIVE held an Oz-themed Trivia Contest.  Grand Prize, generously
donated by the
Brunswick Little Theatre, was two tickets to their
upcoming production of
Godspell.  After some pretty fierce
competition, first place went to
Connie's Team.  Congratulations,
Connie, and enjoy the show!
We also had a costume parade, and were treated
to some adorable
Oz figures, including the
Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion,
Glinda, a Munchkin, a Flying Monkey, and the
Wicked Witch of the West herself!  Sadly, the
costume parade photos did not turn out (that's
what we get for waiting until it was too dark!)
although we did snap this one of Max Iapalucci
running around in his Flying Monkey outfit
earlier in the evening.

Thanks to Randy Jones and Downtown Southport, Inc. for inviting us
to participate in this great evening!  We're looking forward to next
year's movies!
