Where We Live Murder Mystery Event -
Murder at the Juice Joint>
Our first Murder
Mystery Event,
Murder High
Class of 1985
Reunion, was a
great success!
Thanks to all who
attended!

For our second murder mystery event, we
decided to take a page out of history and put
on an homage to the St. Valentine's Day
Massacre of 1929.  On
February 16, 2008
we transformed the Boiling Spring Lakes
Community Center into "The Juice Joint", a
An interactive murder mystery event where YOU
might be the victim, key witness, or even
THE MURDERER
Timmy Flannagan, the Juice
Joint doorman, waits for the
secret password (
shhhhh, it's
cat's pajamas!) before admitting
guests to the Juice Joint.
1920's speakeasy!  Arriving guests discovered a sign on the front
door to "Rosie's Tea Room"  telling them to head around to the
rear entrance for "after hours deliveries".  There they were greeted
by our imposing doorman,
Timmy Flannagan (Mat Erickson),
who demanded that all patrons give the secret password before
admitting them to our very own nightclub.

Gangsters and their molls mixed with aspiring actresses, nosy
reporters, and some VERY shady cops while enjoying the sounds
of the
Nick Michaels Trio and partaking of some illegal hooch
(okay, wine and beer - special thanks to the
Azalea Coast
Brewery
for their sponsorship!)  Juice Joint owner Rosie Marie
(Katie Deese) welcomed the patrons and warned them that there
were many surprises in store throughout the evening before
opening the buffet, which included Italian treats like
Tony
Nasogrande's (Adrian Iapalucci's) sausage and peppers,
and EXCELLENT cheesecakes generously donated by

Chris' Cosmic Kitchen
.

Once again, we were absolutely thrilled by how whole-heartedly everyone got into the spirit
of things!!  By popular vote, special recognition went out to Best Dressed
Casey Carolina
(Carolyn Stringer) and Ray Wycoff, Best Actress Molly Moll (Karen Fairfield) and Best
Actor
Chief Cameron (Jonathan Richmond).  The Moneybags award went to Flora
Nemetz-Gadora
(Maureen Dewire), who apparently had the assistance of some very
devoted but VERY shady gangsters,
Guy Auger and Marion Warren.  The Super Sleuths
of the evening, who actually guessed the murderer correctly, were
Maureen Dewire, Jim
McCallum, John Behnken
and Shawn Kelly.

Thanks to Sherry Stocks, Kathie Wycoff and Tonya Ohlund for
sharing theirs!
We raised over $700 for our playground fund, but even better than that was the satisfaction
of bringing so many diverse people from our community together for an evening of fun!

Thanks again to our sponsors
Allen Hancock and the Azalea Coast Brewery, Chris and
Kristen Lubbin
of Chris' Cosmic Kitchen and The Nick Michaels Trio (Michael
Stringer, Nick Giannatasio
and Katrina Fairbank).  Extra special thanks to everyone
who worked hard to make the evening such a success, including
Pam Sargent, Jonathan
& Anne Richmond, Kyle & Tonya Ohlund
and Sherry Stocks & Myron Keslar!

We hope to see you all at the next one, coming Summer 2008!
