Where We Live

July 2007 THIRD THURSDAY:
Container Herb Gardening
We kicked off our THIRD
THURSDAY series on July 19,
2007 with a workshop on
Container Herb Gardening led by
local attorney Adrian Iapalucci!
Adrian showed off his herbs, talked
about his self-taught, trial and error
method of gardening, and let
everyone get their hands dirty
transplanting some basil plants.
We had a great time sharing our
own gardening triumphs and
mishaps, as well as swapping a
few recipes to use up all those
herbs!
(Click here for Adrian's favorite pesto recipe,
perfect for using up the last of your basil at the end of the
season.  Freeze it in ice cube trays, and you can enjoy the
summery flavors of fresh basil all winter long!)

After a half-hour or so of playing in
the dirt, we cooled off in the ac and
enjoyed a few snacks featuring
Adrian's homegrown herbs,
including turkey crostini with sage
compound butter, corn on the cob
with basil and reggiano, and
rosemary spiced nuts.  Yum!

Thanks, Adrian!!  We're off to a
great start!
