The Mad Tea Party
Uke-abilly. Retro-Pop. Rock 'n' Roll.

Mad Tea Party brews up rock 'n' roll, retro-pop and
honky tonk to create a fresh and intoxicating sound. "It's
B-52s meets Buddy Holly with a lot more thump."
Musical conspirators
Ami Worthen and Jason Krekel
serve up an exciting live show to music lovers thirsty
for upbeat, original refreshment. Delicious harmonies
glide over electrified ukulele, juke-joint guitar, scratchy
fiddle and pulsing foot percussion. Catchy songs about
love, life, sex and dancing are steeped in raw rockabilly
with shreds of doo wop and devilish blues. Drink deep -
Mad Tea Party concocts a musical recipe that will make
you boogie.

Kent Knorr
Instructor/Founder, North Carolina
Ukulele Academy

It's ironic that the "K" in the name "Knorr" is silent,
because
Kent Knorr, founder and instructor of the
North Carolina Ukulele Academy has been filling the
world with music for more than 20 years.  Originally a
guitar player, he later began dabbling with his
grandfather's ukulele and 5-string banjo. Over the next
decades, he learned to play the 4-string and 5-string
banjo, bluegrass, classical and rock guitar, the mandolin,
the resonator guitar and, of course, the ukulele. He's an
instrument collector and builder and has been a founder
and or member of 7 different bands, played in studio on
several albums and has been all over the east coast
playing his music.
The Casserole
Just like your momma used to make...

The Casserole was formed in late 2006 in downtown
Wilmington, drawing talent from some of the best bands
the lower Cape Fear has to offer.... and it was magic
from the very first note.  Bassist
Andy Dortch
(Rogersville Road) and drummer
TJ Prystal (RootSoul
Project) provide a solid backbone for
Randy McQuaid's
(Rootsoul Project) rhythm guitar, soulful vocals, and
occasional harmonica. Adding a harmonious upper
octave twang with a mandolin and scratchy country-boy
vocals is the amazing
Steve Todd (L Shape Lot). The
soaring lead/slide guitar of
Justin Johnson (Rogersville
Road and RootSoul Project) rounds out their jam band
sound.
Port City Sound Company
Rock/Blues

Port City Sound Company was formed in Wilmington in
2008 by drummer,
J.B. Piner.

Members include
Sam Carteret on bass, Mike Hall
and
Garry Lane on guitar, with lead vocalist Sam
Massey
on keyboard.

Port City Sound Company plays a variety of original
ballads and instrumentals, plus they cover many classic
rock songs from the 1970's and 80's.
Snake Oil Medicine Show
Psychobilly / Bluegrass / Reggae

What do you get when....? The art and music created by
Snake Oil Medicine Show are vivid expressions of love.
The positive vibrations the band members share with
their audiences communicate a sincere belief that
through unity, awareness, and spirituality, the world can
change for the better. Cultivating a dynamic Art Party
wherever they go, the variously textured music of Snake
Oil Medicine Show finds Appalachian bluegrass and
old-time coexisting in delicious harmony with early jazz
styles, reggae, post-newgrass instrumental expression,
and warped psychedelia. Snake Oil Medicine Show
presents colorful, uplifting music that is humorous, yet
serious. Bright paint colors on the canvas swirl together
with fantastic costumes, positive energy, and a sense of
loving family as the band members strive for new levels
of artistic expression while consistently letting their
roots show. Though the original purveyors of snake oil
medicine may have been hucksters, the fine people of
Snake Oil Medicine Show convey a heart-felt message
of Peace Through Music that is absolutely genuine. So
come on, y?all, follow your dancing feet and see what
everyone is smiling about! - Patty O'Furniture Atlanta,
GA 2004
